Set includes a score and nine parts.
This five-movement piece is inspired by different episodes taken from the childhood of the composer’s youngest son, Javier (who is nicknamed “the flea”). By using a cyclical melodic technique, this composition aims to create a musical tale in the tradition of Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf.” The jolly mood is reinforced by including popular musical references, such as jazz waltz, mambo, Latin jazz and Bossa nova.
